According to the data from Victor Volonchunas, the Yaroslavl City Mayor, the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development is considering allocation of a loan amounting to RUB 1.5 billion for construction of Vozdvizhenie Water Treatment Plant of capacity of 100,000 m3/day. The local contribution will amount to RUB 500 million. The project will adopt a concession form, implying a long-term lease by new operators, who will have to perform a number of obligations. This is required as Yaroslavlvodokanal is one of the backbone utilities of the Housing and Municipal Sector in the City.
The City authorities show a profound interest the Clean Water programme. Сonstruction сompletion of Vozdvizhenie Water Treatment Plant is on the list of other projects under the programme. Vozdvizhenie completion is the interest which will become the basis for further co-operation with the EBRD. According to the estimates made by the Bank there are no obstacles for a new co-operation round.

Vladimir Sleptsov, First City Mayor Deputy, is entrusted with coordination of utilities within the housing and municipal complex.

done so far and ensured that the Bank is ready to continue co-operation.

According to his words, combined efforts of the City Administration, Yaroslavlvodokanal and EBRD resulted in a know-how for successful innovations at the intersection of two priority trends for the EBRD – development of local authorities and energy efficiency.
